The Society for Decision Making under Deep Uncertainty (DMDU)

2018 DMDU Annual Meeting

13-15 November, 2018
One Culver, 10000 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232, USA
The 2018 DMDU Annual Meeting will be held in Southern California, 14-15 November 2018, hosted by RAND Corporation and Culver City. Prior to the two-day meeting, there will be a Training Day on 13 November 2018, designed to provide grounding in DMDU concepts and core methods. It is intended for those who wish to conduct DMDU analyses as well as decision makers who may receive the output of such analyses.
The annual meeting will emphasize the role of DMDU in decision making with respect to urban systems and emerging technology. We also hope to use this meeting to encourage connections among the DMDU community and new partners in Latin America and the Pacific Rim. There will also be an opportunity to discuss your practical deep uncertainty problems.

The organizing committee is exploring some new opportunities to launch at this year's event. In order to help planning and logistics, we would like to gauge the level of interest from our attendees:

Tech Deep Dive. The Tech-Deep Dive session will be a technology-focused event on Tuesday 13 Nov, looking at DMDU analytics and the algorithms behind the analytics. If you are interested in participating, we welcome comments and suggestions for what you would like to see included in this session.

Hosted Field Trip. On Friday 16 Nov (the day after the official close of the event), we may host an optional field trip to a local area of interest, such as Sony Studios, the Ballona Wetlands, or Hayden Tract. The location and time have yet to be finalized.

Travel Funding. The organizing committee is actively seeking travel support funding for participants who may benefit from some assistance. While no guarantees can be provided, the registration form will allow participants to indicate whether they wish to be considered for such support, if available.

Please indicate your interest in the above opportunities on the following registration page.
